found it. chambersburg. you the man! blues in chambersburg seems odd. it’s mostly all about mennonites for me. plain folk on farms. me, back then.

Tresa and the guys are really quite good. My impression is the region wants some growth in entertainment and tourism, which is natural enough, and it might get it. I stopped off at a bar after choir practice this evening (“Holocaust Cantata” — great stuff!), and it was quiet around 10 p.m. There are a couple of livelier places in town, but Hagerstown and Chambersburg, Martinsburg and Cumberland, north on the Potomac — this is “over the mountain” (South Mountain, of course, and all west of the Appalachian Trail) and it is rural America.

One trick I’ve picked up is to meet Washington acquaintance out in Front Royal, about an hour down the I-81 and a bit east on 66 . . . much, much easier than going “down the mountain” (same one) and turning south at Frederick, Bethesda-bound. Yuck. Keep me and my Mustang on the west side of the Blue Ridge. Awfully pretty.

I could stand to spend some serious hours or days with the cameras on working farms. They have a great general look and lots for shooting interest.
